The 9,000-square-foot sky villa, meant to evoke a “night at the museum,” was renovated as part of the resort’s $690 million plan to completely reimagine the property, and includes many original pieces from Hirst’s butterfly-motif works.

Inside, the two-story suite, created in collaboration with architecture firm Bentel & Bentel, boasts furniture and textiles thatincorporate Hirst’sspin, butterfly and pharmacy designs, including a fully-stocked glass encased medicine cabinet filled with diamonds.

The master bathroom is outfitted with gray marble, like much of the suite, and includesmosaic butterfliesetched into the flooring. In both of the master bedrooms, butterfly-covered headboards hang above the California King beds, and the animal shows up on art installations hung on the walls, curtains and the carpet.



“I love what Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta have done with the Palms. It’s amazing being able to work with them because they are great collectors and totally understand art,” said Hirst said in a statement. “They have allowed me to create a suite in the hotel and design everything and completely fill it with my art.”

Alongside his creative furniture, six original Hirst pieces are on display in the Sky Villa, includingCasino Royal(2018), a ten-panel collection of his butterfly motifs on monochrome gloss-painted canvases,A Medicine Cabinet Called Vegas(2018),The Winner Takes It All(2018) andMoney(2018).

His pieceWinner/Loser(2018), which is set into the wall in the eclectic game room, is also striking, as it includes two bull sharks suspended in formaldehyde in a white tank.

Outside, the suite features a private pool covered in mosaic-tiled butterflies that overlooks the Las Vegas Strip. There’s also a cantilevered jacuzzi with inlaid butterflies and pill decals on the surrounding glass.

Guests who book the suite can enjoy the accommodation’s private healing salt room, the fitness room, and two massage rooms, where the tables have Hirst’s butterflies stitched into them.


The Empathy Suite at the Palms joins the hotel’s other five Sky Villas, all of which have been completely re-imagined from top to bottom. The resort also offers a handful of luxurious themed suites, where the amenities range from in-room basketball courts and bowling alleys to beauty bars and photo booths.
If you don’t have a few hundred thousand dollars to shell out on a hotel room, you can still experience the scene. Traditional resort guest rooms start at$109 per night.
