McDonald’sfans who prefer their nuggets with a kick are in luck.
The fast food chain has announced the return of its Spicy Chicken McNuggets, which can be found in participating local markets for a limited time, while supplies last.
The hot nuggets, which feature a tempura coating made with cayenne and chili peppers, are currently available in Seattle, Portland, Denver and New York City, among other locations, according to McDonald’s USA.
The fast food giantfirst introducedthe fan-favorite item in 2020. At the time, a press release noted that it marked the first new McNuggets flavor in the nearly four decades since their launch in 1983, and that customers had been requesting spicy McNuggets “for some time.”
The spicy nuggets proved so popular that theynearly sold outwithin two weeks of being introduced.

McDonald’s said it was “thrilled” with the positive response, adding in a statement, “If our customers truly can’t get enough, there’s always a chance we’ll bring limited-time menu items back in the future.”
And they certainly did: The spicy nuggets had more limited runsin 2021and 2022, before this latest appearance on the chain’s menu.
Last week, McDonald’s made news in the fast food world for another reason when the chain announced plans for theremoval of self-serve soda machinesat all U.S. locations.
Fans of the Golden Arches had some other limited-edition treats to get excited about this summer.
In July, McDonald’s released a newpeanut butter crunch flavor of the McFlurry, combining vanilla soft serve blended with crispy cereal mix and chocolate peanut butter cookie pieces.
And in April, the chain unveiled astrawberry shortcake McFlurry, which included strawberry-flavored clusters and shortbread cookies.
