He asked — and she said yes!
Three days after he popped the question,Alex Rodriguezand bride-to-beJennifer Lopezshared the first photos from his romantic beachside proposal in the Bahamas on Instagram.
“Locking it down. 💙#futuremrsrodriguez,” the athlete, 43, simply captioned his Instagram post on Tuesday. Lopez, 49, shared the same image, as well as three more photos in which the newly engaged couple share a passionate post-proposal kiss.
Rodriguez also opened up about their engagement in his Instagram story on Tuesday.
“There aren’t many words to share with you, only feelings. Gratitude. Excitement. And just … joy,” he wrote alongside a photo from the proposal in which he’s kissing Lopez’s forehead. “We know there is work to do to keep building a family and future we can be proud of, and we can’t do it without all of you. We are so thankful for all your messages of love and congratulations.”

Lopez and Rodriguezannounced their engagementon Saturday night.
“She said yes,” Rodriguez, 43,captioned a photo of Lopezwearing her stunning diamond engagement ring as he held her hand; the rock isestimated to be worth up to $5 million.
“Everyone is super happy for both of them,” a friend of the couple told PEOPLE at the time.

The couple began dating on Feb. 3, 2017.
“They are incredible together. Very much soulmates that bring out the best in each other and are so supportive of each other,” a source says of thenewly engagedcouple.
“From the start, they moved very quickly. Their relationship was always very passionate. Jennifer quickly fell very hard for Alex. And she quickly started planning for the future,” adds the source, who says Lopez — who has been married three times before — is the “happiest she has ever been.”
From the start, the couple bonded over their love for their families, including Rodriguez’s daughters Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10, (with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis) and Lopez’s 11-year-oldtwins Max and Emme(with ex-husband Marc Anthony).

“For them both, they are still all about their family with the four kids. Their initial strong attraction for each other would have quickly faded if they had not been able to come together as a family,” another insider told PEOPLE after the proposal.
“Their kids all accepted each other and got along from the beginning. It’s always tricky when you merge families, but Jennifer and Alex did a great job from the start. The kids are amazing together. And they have wanted Jennifer and Alex to get married for a long time.They will all definitely be a huge part of the wedding.”
