We fuck the assumption for The Book of Life : It ’s a Romeo and Juliet fib set during the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead .
The movie is being produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Jorge Gutierrez ( who also worked on the script with Douglas Langdale ) . Thanks to THR we now have the first piece ofconcept art from the film , plus a raw precis : the movie “ Tell of a young piece mention Manolo who is tear between what he want todo ( play guitar and win the heart of the girl of his dreams ) and whathis family want him to do . He ends up traveling across three differentworlds to find himself . ”
The art is gorgeous , and looks a little like the Nickelodeon ’s serial El Tigre : The Adventures of Manny Rivera ( which Gutierrez created ) — and that ’s also great . Just love this vibe . There ’s another image over atTHR . Book of Life comes out on Oct. 17 .
