The answer is … well , nothing . Because somewhat much every upcoming show being aired in the run - up to Avengers 4 ’s liberation — on Netflix , the second seasons of Iron Fist , Punisher , and Luke Cage , as well as temerarious season three ; Freeform’sCloak and Dagger ; and presumably Hulu’sRunaways , should season two air before Avengers 4 — will be set before Infinity War in the grand timeline . While that might be a fleck of a bummer for the more sanguinary among us who are aching to see at least half of the casts of these display suddenly wrick into itty bitty bit , it ’s a choice that makes sense in the end , just as it did for SHIELD toultimately not go in that direction at the end of time of year five . Marvel ’s show have been at their best when they focus on their own matter rather than how they all link into event of the full-grown movies — mainly because when they do make an attempt , it’sso half - hearted that it might as well have never happen .
Yes , it breaks the Marvel Cinematic Universe a little when we do n’t get to see such earth - shattering effect exceed the blockbusters they take position in and ripple out into the residual of this world . But maybe at this point we should justaccept that it ’s broken already , and let the shows and movies go their own room without a guardianship in the world as to what the other one-half is up to . If Thanos vanishing half of all life ca n’t even make an impact , what could be the thing that would tie these two disparate sides together ?
