At least five airline are have delays this sunrise due to a computer problem . Early paper indicate that Delta , United , Southwest , Alaska , and JetBlue all experienced the same outage , which has reportedly been fixed .
A spokesperson for Southwest Airlines narrate Gizmodo over email that the outage was because of “ a trafficker that services multiple aircraft carrier with data point used in flight preparation . ”
The FAA did not straightaway respond to Gizmodo ’s request for comment but toldCBS Newsthat the hold stanch from a “ flight planning weight and balance platform called Aerodata . ”

The delays have hit airports in Atlanta , Boston , Chicago , Detroit , Miami , and New York , amongothers .
“ A brief third - political party engineering take that prevented some Delta Connection flight from being dispatched on meter this morning has been resolved , ” a Delta interpreter recite Gizmodo over electronic mail .
“ No cancellation are expected due to the issue and our teams are working to resolve some resulting delays . We apologize to client for any worriment . ”

Users on societal medium have been posting all morning about the outage , with some posting photos of boards withplenty of delays .

Southwest Airline issued an internal ground stop for roughly 40 minutes this morning but planes pop flying again at 7:05am ET .
