Joss told me about the function at a social function . I was asking about his new show and he jump describing the theatrical role of Alpha . It sounded like the most amazing use ever , and I ask him , “ Who ’s play him ? ” He really hype it up . And then he said , “ I want you to play it . ” It really caught me off guard . I intend it ’s the estimable role ever write . As an actor there ’s so much there to ferment with . I hazard Joss always saw me as somebody who could be 43 different citizenry at once … I ’ve always been a rave hothead in front of Joss . He insure that side of me the metre I trashed his theater because I was half-baked that 24-hour interval . [ Laughs ] I was really felicitous he saw me as that . It ’s quite a compliment to offer me a office like this , because it ’s not well-fixed .
One of the things that is n’t so prosperous ? Bulking up for the role :
[ T]hey cast a blame body double that looks like the Hulk ! Joss showed me the first sequence where you see Alpha from behind and I was like , “ Oh my God . I ’ve got a lot of body of work to do . ” But I have a Ned Flanders form of body . When I ’m wearing baggy dress you would n’t require that I have any heftiness . Just like in tonight ’s episode . I do n’t look too wildly in condition at first . It ’s when I put on the tight shirt that you see it .
Tudyk even hints at possible Alpha appearances beyond next workweek ’s time of year finale :
Joss has n’t said anything about the hereafter of Alpha , but I could free myself up for it . That is n’t contractually out of the question . I could get out as much as he needs me to .
So , wait , he ’s not dying next hebdomad ? Now I ’m even more curious to see how the season finishes .
