Shilo Sanderswas taken to the hospital after suffering an undisclosed injury in Saturday’s Colorado Buffaloes' loss to the Oregon Ducks.
The defensive back, who is also themiddle son of head coachDeion Sanders, revealed he had to pay a visit to the emergency room due to an undisclosed injury incurred during the game on Sept. 23 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.
While disembarking from the team’s plane, Shilo, 23, toldWell Off Media, “I can’t say I didn’t play hard, I’m peeing blood right now.”
Shilo, who recorded seven tackles — six of which were solo, took a brutal blow to the kidney during a tackle.
“He’s doing better," Deiontold reportersof his son on Tuesday, perOn3.
“We went to the hospital right after we landed," the former NFL star, 56, said. “He’s doing much better. We’re praying that he heals and he’s playing this weekend. He’s a valuable part of our secondary and our team defensively.”
Shilo is the second player from Colorado to be hospitalized with a field injury in recent weeks.

Hunter struggled to get up and was soon taken off the field with the help of medical staff.
Deion debuted as the team’s head coach on Sept. 2, which also marked Shilo’s start on the team. The two-time Super Bowl champion previously coached at Jackson State University in Mississippi, while Shedeur Sanders, 21, also transferred to Colorado from that college to play as quarterback.

Deion recently told PEOPLE it was his “dream” of jogging out on the football field with his team. He previously hadhis left big toe and second toe amputated in 2021and currently wears a protective boot on his left foot following ablood clot procedurein June. Therefore, he explained, a “nice, little comfortable jog” would suffice.
