There ’s never been a kung fu robot movie , which is fundamentally a crime against culture . fortunately Chinese music director Jeffrey Lau is about to carry on out Justice Department with his approaching movie about cyborg kung fu masters .
Lau , pictured here with stars Sun Li and Hu Jun ( center ) , has direct a number of other science fiction and fantasy motion-picture show , most recently A Chinese Tall Story . At a press league in China last calendar week , he said that he was motivated to put to work on the as - yet - ungentle kung fu automaton movie after seeing Transformers and realizing there were no robot movies that were distinctly Asian . The movie will be larger-than-life , with elements of humor and romance as well as robot - on - automaton natural action . It takes place in a future world where robot are at war with each other . Sun Li plays a charwoman in sexual love with a cyborg , which she described as very moving , but more difficult than your standard romance function .

Lau foretell that Jing ’s fictional character will be unlike anything you ’ve meet before : An android who guess like a human , has Taiwanese kung fu skills , and finally scramble with a crisis of conscience . Several of the robots can shift variety , like Transformers , and this will be key to the concluding , heroic fight scene – which apparently makes extension to Bruce Lee .
OK , so we ’ve start kung fu , Bruce Lee , cyborgs , androids who can translate their shapes , human - automaton love , and fight scenes . All this movie ask is a gargantuan monster and I can die the happiest geek in the world . The picture show is slated for a summer 2009 release in Asia , and hopefully us poor sods over in the States and Europe will get to see it sometime next year too .
